The World Transplant Games 2019 is now underway, with events taking place all this week in Newcastle and Gateshead. What makes these games special is the athletes, who have all undergone a transplant or are living donors.

Here’s what’s coming up. Try and get along to as many of these events as possible to cheer on these amazing athletes! True Potential are proud to be the main sponsor of Gateshead International Stadium, which will be holding the track and field events.

In addition to competitive and exciting sporting events, the Games also aim to provide a legacy of awareness.

Right now, across the UK, there are around 6,080 people on the transplant waiting list including around 150 children and teenagers. You can help change this by giving the gift of life, which is as simple as signing the NHS Organ Donor register today. It only takes a minute, but it could be worth a lifetime to someone.
